About Us

is about the experience.

OMO Teppanyaki and Kitchen is a unique teppanyaki restaurant in your neighborhood that has been welcoming customers from both the local community and further afield since 2018. OMO has always been a place of fun and entertainment, and we wish to thank all those who have continuously supported us and helped us grow to where we are now.

OMO is situated where the long-time operation Home Food Inn once was. In fact, it is operated by the same owner, Winnie, who built this majestic building, the first extensive Chinese buffet in the city, in 1993. Although Winnie retired in 2006, she is now back at it with this trendy and enjoyable teppanyaki business alongside with her son, Eric. Together, they welcome all guests who enter OMO, ensuring they are well-attended to and able to fully enjoy the fascinating and memorable dining experience.

OMO began with the idea of treating its customers with the utmost respect and sincerity while simultaneously providing a uniquely world-class culinary experience. This is why our team is committed to serving with OMO's core values in mind:

OMOtenashi - Ultimate Hospitality

At OMO, guests are treated with unparalleled hospitality, reminiscent of the traditional Japanese value of selfless service.

OMOshiroi - Fun and Entertaining

The teppanyaki chefs at OMO not only prepare delicious meals but also entertain guests with their culinary skills, making each dining experience fun and engaging.

OMOide - Memorable

Every visit to OMO promises a memorable experience, from the taste of authentic Japanese Wagyu to the lively table-side performances by the chefs.

OMO’s specialty is Wagyu beef. Popular around the world due to its extremely high quality, Wagyu is valued for its layers of intra-muscular fat or marbling, with a texture that simply melts in the mouth and provides an intensely flavor some eating experience. Wagyu has up to 300% more monounsaturated fat than regular beef, as well as being high in both omega-3 and omega-6 content. It also has the lowest cholesterol levels of all meats, which is great for your heart!

Traditionally, the home of Wagyu is Japan. The most popular Japanese style is teppanyaki, where strips of meat are seared on a flat iron griddle, thereby retaining the healthy fats that make Wagyu beef so prized.

OMO is a Japanese-style restaurant that specializes in serving teppanyaki while offering our customers a uniquely Japanese cuisine experience, using an iron griddle to cook the food. The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan, meaning iron plate and yaki, which means grilled or pan-fried. Modern teppanyaki grills are typically gas or electric-heated flat surface grills, and are widely used to cook food in front of guests at restaurants in Japan. OMO is therefore designed to serve its valued customers with a genuinely Japanese teppanyaki experience. Our well-selected and highly-trained chefs not only entertain while they cook directly in front of you, but also ensure that you enjoy the most flavorful and tasty food available. Along with the skilled teppanyaki chefs, our sushi chefs cut up fresh seafood for sushi and sashimi. OMO’s signature rolls such as Flying Dragon and Red Dragon rolls are a one-of-a-kind artistry that not only taste delicious but are always camera-ready.

OMO has nightly specials, with Wednesdays being extremely popular as OMO serves the only All You Can Eat Teppanyaki in North America.  On Thursdays OMO offers Wagyu Date Night specials for the perfect combination of romantic ambiance, entertainment, and culinary experience.

The restaurant is designed to create an authentic yet welcoming atmosphere, where you are immersed in ambience and class. In the true spirit of Japan, we strive to ensure that all customers who patronize our restaurant are entertained with care, respect and hospitality. Our highest goal is for you to leave with a memorable experience, as symbolized by the artistic rendition of characteristic Japanese geishas, sakura blossoms and koi fish. Every image or object has meaning, and artistic wooden panels allow for the dining hall to be divided into sections for privacy, as is often the case in many traditional Japanese establishments. Our elegant and thoughtfully-decorated restaurant has one motto: to offer every one of its patrons a Japanese experience found nowhere else but at OMO.
